Hello friends,
I am writing on behalf of a Choctaw brother who is currently living in the
Texas Panhandle. He is enrolled in the Choctaw Nation, but because he does
not live in the area, he is not eligible for any assistance from his own
nation.
He is currently disabled due to reconstructive back surgery and he needs to
have his roof repaired, especially during the rainy season. All he is
asking for is assistance - so he can get the materials needed and he said,
he will find a way to get the work done and will pay it back as soon as he
is back on his feet again.
I don't know this man personally, but I believe he is a sincere man who just
needs a helping hand and I'm hoping perhaps someone in that area can provide
it to him. It's not always the big things that require our help - but to be
able to help even one person out is as important as any other native issue.
I'm hoping that maybe some AIM brothers and sisters might be able to help -
that would be quick help in the rainy season - while applications to
programs will take much more time. But bottom line, this man needs help.
If anyone knows of any housing programs or any program that could help him
to get the materials he needs to fix his roof or anyone in the area where he
lives who may be willing to help him out - please contact me and I will give
you his name and email address and you can find out what you need to know
from him directly.
Please feel free to forward this on - and thank you all for your help and
concern in helping this man get back on his feet.
