Burial Grounds under attack- please help with this

Okay everyone this is it. We need your help. This is important! We are going to lose Native Ancestors on August 15th! Burial grounds "up for sale" in McIntosh County Georgia. (The meeting is in Darien, Ga.)
If you know anyone who can come here to be a presence, it would help. Otherwise, we need to find someone who supports Native Issues with their financial help and good lawyer who will work pro bono who will help us sue the developer if he gets his way.
We have pictures of everything that I say as proof.
We really need to stop this! The battle lines are being drawn. And the enemy is confident of his lawlessness winning. We need to mess with his confidence. We really need to stop this!

August 15th is the Commissioners meeting for the county commissioners. They already have three commissioners in the developers pocket. They have tried to attack our finances (won't go into that). They set things up so that the County Commission and the City Council meet on the same day and they set me up to have jury duty that same day in an effort to keep me away fro the meeting (They just had me on the list for jury duty last month at the same time as a commission meeting. I refused to participate in that. Anybody see a plot here?)

The last to cave in was Ray Proudfoot. He has some Native heritage. But is too redneck and sold out
To care any more.
Our bad boys are George "Bubba'" Deverger- Head commissioner (wife beater and elderly uncle beater. No respect in him.), David Stevens and lastly,
Ray Proudfoot.
Our good guys are Charles Jordan and Boyd Gualt.
The developer is Thomas Ashley.
The area that they are trying to destroy is the Mentionville/ River Roads area. They are going to rezone it for condos and destroy this lovely historic neighborhood where these nice African Americans have conscientiously cared for these Native Burials.

They have been threatening these nice elderly people with taking their land anyway by raising taxes so high that they can't afford them. It is all about racism.

Please have folks call, fax or write them and Mayor David Bluestein.
And ask why they can make the white portion of the town historic and destroy this African American historic area and Native Graves.
Also ask why they are allowing the destruction of Ceylon cemetery. Whish is a registered cemetery that held African Americans and some old Native American graves.

Ask them why they accept money from developers.

i called the commisoner's number and was given the number of a mr.melvin amerson who is the planning agent. he told me there are no plans in the offfing to destroy ceylon cemetery or any other one. there is a piece of property behind the cemetery that is up for possible developement. the more questions i asked the more impatient and abrupt he got. there is another person to speak to at the commissioners number at 912-437-6671 and her name is elinor gale but she was not in right now. i also have a number for boyd gault,912-437-6312. the commisioners do not reside at that office number but are only there sporadically for county business.marcie

i just called and spoke to boyd gault home phone [phone] home and cell 912-266-4771. he was very nice and answered all my questions. he also said that mr amerson is the only county planner and is swamped with too much work so that is why he was probably short with me. mr boyd said that mr kitchen or his wife in his place if he can't come should bring all the people he did last time to the meeting because that is the only thing that could stop this. he said the meetings normally between city and county are the 2nd and 3rd tues of the month but because of it being an election time. it was shedulued both for the same day. his concern is that no one knows if there are any buriels beyond the actual cemetery's boundries that would have spread into this land parcel up for developement and that that wouldn't be found out until digging started to lay foundations. he also said that some home owners have willingly sold out to the developers and the rest are concerned that once
the developement passes - if it does, it would raise property values in that area and yes, then the taxes would be higher. but no one is being threatened to sellout or their taxes will be raised. it is the condo's if built that will cause that. marcie
