Dear Friends and Family,
I am writing to you all on the behalf of a dear dear friend
Georgette Barber and her family. This morning I heard some tragic
news, as her husband of 34 years of age passed away in his sleep.
He leaves behind a very loving wife and 5 kids. All of their kids
are members and active participants of the Native American Club that
I run locally here in Albuquerque.. Last year I helped his
daughters become more actively involved in the Southwestern Powwow
Circuit. Some of you may have even met or seen his daughter Mia
with me selling food during the fall and winter powwows. I am even
in the midst of sewing her new southern traditional regalia, as he
wanted to see her dance. At our first Childrens' Holiday Powwow,
last December, he played 'Santa', in which all the children,
includiing elders, enjoyed the gifts he gave. We are mourning such
a loving and giving man, who adored each of his children and step-
children. He even regarded my son as his own, and Kai is very
emotional over this loss. The family is in shock but they are
strong and loving so they will get through this.
I am asking you my friends and family for help in assisting this
family. They need to know the native american communities across
this nation are with them in this time of need. If you would like
to send letters or cards of condolence or even donations, please
feel free to send them to me, I will be happy to take them to the
family, as I will be with them every moment I can.
They have 5 girls with 2 twins at 2yrs old, 1 at 7, another is 10,
and the eldest being 13 years of age.
At this time the burial services are aimed to be on Tuesday August
22nd or Thursday August 24th.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for anything you can do
for this family. I know they will appreciate the graciousness of
the community.
Send to: Georgette Barber & Family c/o Molly Putsch 12200
Montgomery Blvd NE #M103, Albuquerque NM 87111
Make check or Money Orders out to: Georgette Barber
We will also be setting up a memorial account for the family to help
with burial costs, etc. with Wells Fargo, if you would like the bank
information, please email me, since we cannot do this until Monday.
I will send you an email on Monday or Tuesday with all the
information.
I know the family thanks you and I hope, after appropriate mourning
time, the girls will come into the circle.
Respectfully yours,
Molly Putsch-Linabah and Kai
