Redbird's Toy Drive and Chumash Culture Day went very well. We had
a spectacular feed, got quite a few toys donated, and enjoyed a
pleasant, if sometimes windy, day at the Chumash Interpretive Center.
The Center would like to have us back for another toy drive next
year, and we would like to include more Chumash, California and
other native presenters as well. If you are involved in any type of
Native American cultural presentation and you are in the southern
California area, please get in touch with me and let's plan on
making next year's toy drive an even more successful event. We
would like to represent a broader spectrum of today's Chumash
people, as well as other native nations.
Over the past few months I have posted the first eighteen chapters
of a pre-history fiction novel, The Wisdom Walkers, on both my Yahoo
360 and MySpace blogs. Chapter Eighteen is now posted and this is
the final chapter I will be posting on line.
I also posted some of the many storyboard images I created in the
writing process on MySpace, within my profile section. For those of
you who write, enjoy photography or horses or both, you will likely
enjoy these images. I found it greatly enhanced the creative
writing experience to do a storyboard, and it also helped me
understand the difficulties of the epic journey that Luz, Mikki and
their companions take in The Wisdom Walkers.
You can view the story, the images and get in touch with me either
via MySpace, Yahoo or my email address, and you can purchase a
download or paperback copy of The Wisdom Walkers through the
links/addresses below.
Have a wonderful week!
