Communication Tree needs donations
By Flier Information Print this page
The Communication Tree needs donations for fall and winter collections. This is a small organization that collects donations for Native American communities around the United States, mostly in central and northern Wisconsin. It is not yet designated 501 (c) (3) for tax deductions. The wish list includes Christmas presents, coats, boots, gloves, blankets, warm winter clothing, canned foods and nonperishables. Items collected will go to community centers, shelters, elder centers, single families, donation centers and hard-to-get-to places.
This year, The Communication Tree is joining with students from the Native American Student Association, Katy’s Indian Arts, The Cherokee Nation store and Supreme Pizza.
Donation drop boxes are at Cherokee Nation Indian Arts, 916 W. Riverside Blvd., Rockford (contact Mac and Juanita, 815-282-3877); and Supreme Pizza, 913 E. Johnson St., Madison, Wis. (contact Dave, 608-255-2200).
More info, contact The Communication Tree, c/o Sherri Jones at (608) 442-8257, or e-mail baz@terracom.net. Make checks or money orders payable to The Communication Tree. Money to cover travel and other expenses is also needed. There is a large need of Christmas presents and coats for children.
From the Dec. 6 - Dec. 12, 2006, issue
