wanted to let you know that Ms. Granger will be re-introducing her Code Talkers Recognition Act during the 110th Congress. We are working to re-draft the bill so it includes the names of all the Code Talkers who served during World War I and II. Last session, we had 183 cosponsors. Ms. Granger would like to introduce the bill early this session so that we will be able to get even more cosponsors this session, and get the bill scheduled for a floor vote.

I've been able to put together this list from testimony submitted to the Senate Indian Affairs Committee during a 2004 hearing as well as some other sources. Do you know where I might be able to get the names of the Code Talkers? From looking at the Senate testimony, it looks like 16 tribes other than the Navajos served as Code Talkers (although I have also seen the number 18).
Thank you,
Office of Congresswoman Kay Granger (TX-12)
