Grandson of Choctaw tribe chief killed in accident Associated Press PHILADELHIA, Miss. - The 28-year-old grandson of Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Chief Phillip Martin was killed Wednesday in a one-vehicle crash in Neshoba County, according to the Highway Patrol.
Tribal officials have confirmed that Kevin Shoemake of Philadelphia was killed in an accident on Mississippi 15, south of Mississippi 495, in Neshoba County.
The Highway Patrol said Shoemake was a passenger in a vehicle that left the road and hit a tree.
The patrol said an investigation is continuing.
