Tribes Receive Grant For Cancer Education
The Mashantucket Pequot, Eastern Pequot and Schaghicoke Tribal Nations announced that they have received a grant from the Lance Armstrong Foundation to improve cancer education services for tribal members. Native Americans living in Connecticut who are at least 18 years old are encouraged to participate in group interviews for the project. The interviews will take one to two hours. Those who have cancer or are cancer survivors will be given individual interviews. The purpose of the project is to find ways to improve the health and lives of Connecticut's Native Americans. To participate, call Markos Samos, project director, at 396-2120 or e-mail him at Msamos@mptn-nsn.gov.
