Hundreds of artifacts and sets of remains belonging to the Gabrieleno- Tongva Indians of California will be reburied this summer _ two years earlier than expected. Archaeologists unearthed the artifacts before construction of a master- planned development in Los Angeles' Playa Vista area in 2003 and stowed them away for future reburial. American Indians had complained that delaying reburial was undignified and pushed for earlier interment. The city and its archaeological firm now say they plan to rebury the remains in June. The Gabrieleno-Tongva Indians of California is one of several tribes that trace their lineage back to the Los Angeles Basin's original inhabitants.
