Redwire Call-out for Artists, Photographers, and
Writers!
Redwire is doing a calendar! This is for our winter
2005/2006 issue. Please send in artwork, photos, and
writings related to native perceptions of time and the
seasons. This calendar will also look at alter-native
ways of telling time, such as the Mayan calendar and
indigenous examples, rather then relying strictly on a
British concept of time. Send in works related to
seasonal native ceremonies that have become shortened
to suit the 9-5 daily and weekly colonial social
schedule for instance. Historical dates of indigenous
resistance will replace colonial holidays which we
also need critiqued or made fun of. "Indian time"
jokes will also be accepted, and so will native
prophecies....
The deadline for all submissions is December 5th, 2005
(ah ha! non-native time that is!)
Please send in writings no longer then 1500 words and
all graphics in high-resolution. We also encourage
corporate media critiques (1000 words), indigenous
media reviews (no longer then one paragraph), and we
already have plenty, plenty of poetry.
Send all submissions to:

initiated the long struggle of resistance against the
arrogance of Power and the violence of money. They,
our ancestors, taught us that a people with pride are
a people who do not surrender, who resist, who have
dignity." - from Our Word Is Our Weapon
