May 3, 2006
The members of the American Indians Rights and Resources Organization ("AIRRO")
would like to extend to you, your family and friends an invitation to attend
AIRRO's 1st Annual Membership Meeting. The Meeting will be held on Saturday May
20, 2006, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Hall located at 905 Drever
Street West Sacramento, California.
The American Indian Rights and Resources Organization is a 501.3(c) non-profit
organization incorporated in the State of California which serves to educate and
assist all individuals regarding basic human and civil rights issues throughout
Indian Country.
Membership in AIRRO is open to all individuals and organizations that support
the belief that basic human rights and civil liberties should be afforded to all
people.
AIRRO was formed in response to the growing trend within Indian Country where
many individual Indians are being denied or stripped of the basic rights which
we were all endowed with. These rights, which were imparted unto us by the
Creator, are the same rights our ancestors fought to preserve for generations
Unfortunately, there are some who have lost their way and find it in themselves
to turn their backs on their brothers and sisters. They have acted to strip or
deny us of our identity, culture, and heritage. They have disinherited us from
our People and our ancestors. Their actions have caused much pain, and we
believe that it is time for the healing to begin.
AIRRO was formed by many from throughout Indian Country who have shared the same
experience of having their rights and identity as Indian people "stripped". From
the 4 Directions, we all found each other, and those elders among us have said
that it was meant to be- "We were brought together for a reason". We agree.
The AIRRO membership believes that it is our responsibility- our duty- to take
on this cause of re-claiming our rights and our identity. AIRRO will work to
assist individuals in protecting and preserving their basic rights and
liberties, as well as to ensure the continuity of our shared identity and
heritage. We owe this to all those who came before us and to the 7 generations
who will come after we have gone. We do this to honor our ancestors whose
struggles and victories made it possible for us to be here.
On behalf of AIRRO and the many people that have come together to bring this
organization to life, we would be honored to have you attend our 1st Annual
Membership Meeting.
Please feel free to contact me if you require any additional information about
AIRRO, how to become a member, or the Membership meeting.
Thank you.
