The government's formal apology for the abuse and mistreatment Native Americans suffered under the state-funded Christian school system will be issued in the House of Commons. A live feed will broadcast the event to Algoma University, and other sites across the country. Locally, Shingwauk Hall Residential School operated for about 100 years before closing in 1970.
