Southwest Hip Hop Artist Gabriel Yaiva wins an Impressive 5 category Native American Music Award Nomination (NAMMY)
Gabriel Yaiva, owner/producer/artist for 4th World Entertainment, was recently nominated for the 2006 Native American Music Awards. The "NAMMYS" as they are called, are the most coveted awards for the Native music community. Yaiva’s album, "Limited Edition" was sent to the NAMMYS for consideration, and is the fourth full length album that 4th World Entertainment has produced since its start in 2000.
The categories that Yaiva was nominated for are: Best Rap/Hip Hop Recording, Record of the Year, Song/Single of the Year "Down 4 A Struggle", Songwriter of the Year, and Best Debut Artist of the Year. The NAMMYS will be officially open for public voting online in two weeks. All votes are cast on-line only, and ballots can be accessed at www.nativeamericanmusic.com, www.nammys.com.
Yaiva is currently beginning planning for a 4-day tour that will be on the Hopi and Navajo Reservations in an effort to educate and heal through positive Hip-Hop, March 2nd – 5th.
