Chocolate Making Navajo Kids Receive Tribal Award Aug 07, 2007 by Julie Rose (KCPW News) A group of 35 Navajo children continue to receive national awards for their chocolate-making business. This summer, a national association of Native American tribes named the young owners of Lickity Split Chocolates "Entrepreneurs of the Year." Since then, the company's executives - who range in age from 8 to 18 - have crisscrossed the country speaking to groups of children and adults about their business. KCPW's Julie Rose spoke with Lickity Split CEO Andrew Dayish about those presentations and his plans for the company's future. Dayish is 16. Lickity Split CEO Andrew Dayish says the company is on track to do at least 20-thousand dollars in sales this year, which is double last year's take. The 35 children who own and run Lickity Split share profits each month to buy bikes, computers and save for college. Click here for a KCPW feature on Lickity Split.
