Native American Church Info (fyi)
I am forwarding an open letter to Indian country from the son of Amada
Cardenas, fondly referred to as “Mom”, “Grandma” or “Peyote Rose” by
members of the Native American Church nationwide.
You may remember that Amada was a revered Peyotera whose residence is
located at the Peyote Gardens of Mirando City, Texas. She passed last
September two months before her 101st birthday.
Since her passing, there have been many questions by members of the
N.A.C. regarding the future access to the Gardens for ceremony. The
property’s ownership, care and maintenance have been passed to Amada’s
only son Claudio Jr.
An account has been setup to accept donations from N.A.C. members that
want to contribute to the ongoing preservation of the Gardens for the
benefit of future generations.
Artwork of Amada has been donated for those that wish to have an image
of Grandma in their homes. 100% of the proceeds will be going to
maintain the house and the property.
More details and the artwork can be viewed at www.CasadeCura.com and
www.NativeWorkplace.com, donations and/or orders for the artwork should
be sent directly to the Cardenas family at the address listed below in
Claudio’s letter. Any efforts by the chapters to collect donations
themselves will be greatly appreciated and anyone can make a donation of
any amount without ordering the artwork as well.
Thank you for your time and assistance in our efforts to preserve this
very important sacred site in the memory of Claudio Sr., and Amada
Cardenas and all they have meant to the native community.

Greetings from Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes
I am Claudio Cardenas, Jr., the son of the late Claudio Cardenas and
Amada S. Cardenas of Mirando City, Texas.
Many of you knew my parents through their work with the Peyote, and the
love they had for the Native American Church.
As their son, and only heir, their property will pass to me. I intend to
carry out their wishes to maintain the property for the Native American
Church to the best of my ability.
A fund will be established in Amada’s name for the preservation and
maintenance of the property in Mirando City, Texas. I would like to
extend and invitation to all members of the Native American Church to
contribute to this fund.
Working together, this property will be there for the N.A.C. for many
years to come.
Thank you for the love and support you have always shown my parents and
my family.
Donations may be sent to:
